A child counselor helps the child resolve symptoms that keep them functioning at their best. If your child displays symptoms of anger, aggression, depression, defiance, insomnia, or being the target of bullying, among other issues a licensed counselor can help with these issues.

How do you know if your child needs counseling?

When your child’s behavior or emotional state is interfering with their healthy functioning and is beyond your knowledge base, professional help should be sought out to aid them in resolving their issues. Usually, if the behaviors or the condition persist for a period of longer than two weeks before you know it is not just a ‘bump in the road.”

Why is my child so angry and aggressive?

Anger and aggression are often the “go to” emotions for children to express themselves, as they are not skilled or experienced in expressing their frustrations with words yet. When problems do arise in their life, they may “act out” in unfavorable or unacceptable ways that affect the whole family, schoolmates, teachers and those around them. Counseling is a good idea when this type of behavior becomes an issue.
